La Tana is a new Italian restaurant & Spritz Bar in Surry Hills
established and run by Cristian Di Sandri and Massimiliano Vian. They met back in 1996 in Colfosco in the mountains of Northern Italy and formed a firm friendship over their love of food and drink. They came to Australia to travel and after a 13,000 km journey in a VW Kombi, they decided to stay here permanently.
Cristian and Max have worked in various Sydney restaurants during their 12 years stay but this is their first venture together as owners. Their knowledge and experience of both Italian flavours and the Sydney social dining scene are personified in La Tana.
This new concept offers a friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy an Italian ritual. Aperitivo!
It is customary to go out for a drink before lunch or dinner accompanied by complimentary "stuzzichini" or appetizers. These snacks are designed to "open" your appetite prefacing the delights of your meal. La Tana offers a moment of relaxation in your day where you can socialize, nibble and enjoy a few drinks.
La Tana serves a wide range of finger food to go with your wine or 'Spritz' (the traditional Venetian aperitif) and also traditional meals typical of the North East of Italy. These meals change daily so be sure to see our special board.
